A couple of days ago, I posted a note talking about self-control, and not buying games because of this sale. Well, not only did I buy games during the sale, some games weren’t even on sale! Here are some of the games I’ve dabbled a bit, and enjoyed:
RATSHAKER
Developers/Publishers: Sunscorched Studios
Socials: Discord | Bluesky | Twitter | Youtube
Platform: Steam
Price: $2.99
In this quirky little fun phycological horror game, you get to shake a rat, squeeze a rat, and face the truth! Whatever that means. It took me less than an hour to complete, and it was a fun experience. The rat shaking was a fun mechanic that kept me engaged on what was happening, unafraid of the spooks that lurked, and was a great contrast to what was actually happening in the game’s story. I see this as a light horror game, so if you want a nice and quick spook, with something quirky to differentiate it, with an interesting perspective and pacing, give this a go.
Void Crew
Developer: Hutlihut Games
Publisher: Focus Entertainment
Socials: Discord | Youtube | Twitch | Twitter | Facebook
Platform: Steam
Price: $19.99 until Dec. 8, then back to $24.99
I’m not much of a space guy, though I have enjoyed Dead Space in the past, I realized I don’t play many games that take place in space. This is not to say I don’t enjoy them, but that I don’t seek them out. But my friends convinced me to purchase this game, and if you’re a fan of co-op games where you have to depend on your friends to keep the ship going, this is it. You’re only a strong as your weakest link, so you better hope your pal knowns how to fly and maneuver to mines and missiles, knows how to aim, or can repair the ship, and overall, knows how to communicate during chaotic space battles.
YEAH! YOU WANT “THOSE GAMES,” RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET’S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM!
Developer: MONKEYCRAFT Co. Ltd.
Publisher: D3PUBLISHER
Platforms: Steam
Price: $9.99
Ever seen those mobiles game adds, or played them, and thought to yourself that you really wished you could play them? Well, this game brings you wish and dream come true! Think of it as a minigame game, where you can pick between five different types of minigames, all adds you’ve seen before, but turned into actual games. I’m surprised how these are actual minigame, and not just something they threw in and thought it was enough. I has been a neat experience, and it gets that little itch of wanting to play a minigame centered game.
ATLYSS
Developer: Kiseff
Publisher: KisSoft
Platforms: Steam
Price: $9.99
First Early Access game on the list! This game was introduced to me by a friend, and I have to say, it’s a very fun game that I completely purchased because of the gameplay and nothing else. I’m a big fan of MMOs, I’ve been playing them for the longest time, and this game kind of gets that itch fairly well. The quick action oriented combat, the quests, the ability to play with friends and go through dungeons, it’s such a fun game that seems to have been getting the right amount of support by the dev. For those who aren’t a fan of the goonery, I can inform you that you can turn it off. People may still call you a furry, and honestly, it’s not that bad.
Glyphica: Typing Survival
Developer: aliasBLACK
Publisher: aliasBLACK, Squeaky Wheel
Socials: Twitter | Yotube | Discord
Platforms: Steam
Price: $7.99 until Dec. 11, after it’ll be $9.99
It’s no secrete I’m a fan of bullet heaven games. I also like to write, so mixing those to elements together create this wonderful game. It’s not just typing words to kill waves of enemies, but you do get abilities that trigger when you type those words, and the bosses are very fun. My favorite is The Poet, which has you typing a poem out to defeat him, while also fending off the waves of enemies. What is also very interesting is that you’re able to turn off/on spaces and punctuations.
Lost But Found
Developer/publisher: Rogue Duck Interactive
Socials: Twitter | Youtube | Discord
Platforms: Steam
Price: $4.79 until Dec. 9, then it’ll be $5.99
Inventory management can be as fun as it can be hectic, depending of the circumstances. In here? They’re hectic. You work in lost and found, and do people lose all types of stuff. Make sure you table is tidy, because when customers come in looking for their shirt, laptop, or jar of pickles, they want that quickly. It’s a fun and cute hectic game with a lot of charm in its style, and engagement in its hecticness.
Tower Factory
Developer/publisher: Gius Caminiti
Socials: Twitter | Youtube | Discord
Platforms: Steam
Price: $14.99
Tower defense games are sometimes very similar. I’ve loved the genre for a long time, and what I love the most is when people mix it with other genres, and in this case, it’s automation with a sprinkle of roguelike. While I can easily figure out tower defense games, this one has been a challenge because I am not much of a builder, let alone a factory builder. But it’s a welcomed challenge that I’m enjoying.
What games did you pick up during the sale? Any of these caught your eye? I still have Abiotic Factor to go through, so I’m not even done! Hope you’re all having a good time, and let me know in the comments what you thought!
Nice collection. Glyphica looks interesting, as does Lost but Found.
Glyphica and lost but found look fun! I love that all the games are completely different and not just one type of art style or genre. Really refreshing.
I did also buy a few things in the end and the one I’m most excited about is the first Hades. But for now dredge has my attention which I got through prime gaming in the end but Newley bought on steam during the sale. Hades won that choice though by coincidence.
